“Whenever you get a blessing from God, give it back to Him in a deliberate act of worship... Rushing in and out of worship is wrong - every time.”
-Oswald Chambers
My Utmost for His Highest

When we realize everything we’re given: food, home, job, education, freedom, rights, intelligence, drive, joy, finances, time... the very breath in our lungs - all gifts from Christ, God Almighty, Creator, Sovereign King - how will that inform our worship in this moment? This week? This coming Sunday? From today throughout eternity?

Both Abel and Cain appeared before God with an offering. Only one was accepted.

If your plan is to wait for Christ’s return before getting serious about repentance (not feeling guilty or "bad" about sin, but turning from it to Christ!)... to wait before getting serious about serving... serious about worship... serious about promoting and proclaiming the Gospel to the ends of the earth... Jesus says you’ll have a very rude awakening in being assigned a place with the goats. "Away from me, you working in lawlessness! I never knew you!"

“He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for Him.”
(from Heb 9:28)

Does worship, “eagerly waiting,” in your life look like Cain or Abel? Arriving late or early? Criticizing or Encouraging? Edifying or Gossiping? Scoffing or Empathizing? Demanding or Serving? Taking thanklessly or Giving lavishly? Judging harshly or Praying fervently? Consuming or being consumed? Leaving quickly or Tarrying expectantly? The one Getting a pedicure or the humble Washer of feet?

Are you giving back with your everything as a deliberate act of “eagerly waiting” worship? If not, today is a new day.

"Because of the covenantal love of the LORD
we are not presently consumed,
for His mercies never fail.
They are new every morning;
great is Your faithfulness!"
-Lamentations 3:22-23
