You might not have realized this, or you may have simply forgotten or dismissed this glorious truth: We have access!
Because of COVID, stores have closed or cut back hours. Hospitals don’t allow visitors. Many church campuses have closed causing many congregations and congregants to grow distant, cold, even angry with God.
But access to God has never depended on human institutions or mediaries... not since Pentecost anyway.
Scripture tells us because of Christ and what was accomished at the Cross... “Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, ...Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”
Access. Glorious, unhindered, undeniable, complete access.
We all have access to Christ, the eternal Word, at all times. Many of us have access to His love story for us: the written Word, the Bible, Holy Scripture, which teaches, encourages, corrects, disciplines, and sustains - not just us, but ALL THINGS!
“The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful word.”
What will you do with that access today? Ignore it? Dismiss it? Pray self-centered prayers? Or will you pray glorious mountain-moving, heavens-shaking, chain-breaking, Gates-of-Hell-wrecking, setting-captives-free prayers and do the works He prepared in advance for us to do?
Access. Glorious, unhindered access to the King of Eternity, Jesus Christ, His Spirit, all His spotless righteousness, and all His omnipotent power...
You’ve got it. The question is, what are you going to do with it?
